2015 Valentine Basket Winners

The winner of the Friends of the Library (FOL) Valentines’ Day children’s basket drawing is Marissa Sartor.  Marissa is nine years old and in 4th grade at East Elementary in Ozark.  Her family moved to Ozark one year ago from Michigan.  Marissa and her mother, Lisa, are the readers in the family.  They love to come to the library to check out books.  Her mother said that when the whole family comes to the library, some of the family members borrow movies instead of books.  Marissa’s favorite book is The Snow Day.  Marissa is currently reading a book titled The Mouse and the Motorcycle . She can hardly wait to see how it ends.  She says that sometimes a book may start out boring, but once she gets into reading it, the book turns out fun.

The winner of the FOL Valentines’ Day adult basket drawing is Carlie Gibson from Sparta.  Carlie just turned five years old and is looking forward to starting school next year.  Her two older sisters sometimes read to her. She enjoys books from the Junie B. Jones and Heloise series.  She also likes to play games on her e-tablet.  Carlie and her sisters enjoy coming to the library to check out books and to participate in the summer reading program.  When asked why she put her name in the drawing for the adult basket, she said she was eyeing the chocolate for herself.  Mom, Jill, can have the rest of the items.

The next general meeting of FOL will be held Saturday, March 21, at 10:00 at the library.  Not a member of Friends!  A yearly individual membership is $6.00 and a family membership is $10.00.  You can join before the meeting at the Christian County Library located at 1005 N. 4th Avenue in Ozark.  Information on Friends and future book sales can be found at www.christiancountylibrary.org or by contacting the library at 417-581-2432.
