Mother's Day Basket Winner

Tyra Beaver is the winner of the Mother’s Day basket drawing sponsored by the Christian County Friends of the Library. Tyra lives in Ozark and is a stay at home mother of two, both girls, ages 9 and 3. Being short on time she loves to go to the library to get audio books for her and her girls.  Tyra and her family love fiction but also check out history books which her 9 year old particularly likes. They often participate in the library’s children’s programs such as the summer reading program now running from May 15th through July 31st. Christmas Basket Winners

The Christian County Friends of the Library would like to announce the winners of the Christmas baskets. Sheila Swanson is the winner of the adult basket. This local native was born and raised in Sparta and now resides with her husband in Bruner. She loves the library for their audiobooks. She spends a lot of time driving and says they are superb way to catch up on all her favorite authors. 

The winner of the children's basket is Jacob Robinett of Nixa Missouri.  Jacob, his brother and sister are avid readers and love checking out books from the Christian county library. Jacob's favorite author is Sarah Moss.   Jacob and his family also very much enjoy the various activities and events put on by the library.

Father's Day Basket Winner

Shelly Myers of Ozark is the winner of the Father’s Day basket drawing sponsored by The Friends of the Christian County Library.

This mother of three currently works as the activities director of Century Pines Assisted Living just around the corner from the library so she visits the library often. Shelly loves everything about the library pointing out it is so much more than just for checking out books. Craft classes, summer movies for the children, the Summer Reading Program are just a few of the events Shelly and her family enjoy.

Bev Krummen of Sparta is the winner of the Mother’s Day basket drawing sponsored by the Friends of the Christian County Library. This retired mother of one is an avid reader and Knitter. She loves going to the Christian County Library to pick out books and regularly attends her Quilting group at the Ozarks Community Center.

Friends of the Library Valentine's Day Basket Winners

Katelynn Harrison, age 4 of Nixa, MO is the winner of the child’s Valentine basket sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  Katelynn, who is not quite reading on her own yet, loves the Lama Lama series among other books.  Her mother has been reading to her since she was a baby and Katelynn takes great interest in the time they spend together reading books.  Kaytelynn’s mother Jenny says her mother took her to libraries when she was a young girl and she is carrying on that tradition.  One of the thing Katelynn and her mother both love about the Christian County Library is the child programs.

An adult basket was also awarded to a Christian County Library patron as well.

The next general meeting of Friends of the Library is March 19th, at 10:00 at the library.  A yearly individual membership is $6.00 and a family membership is $10.00.  You can join before the meeting at the Christian County Library located at 1005 N. 4th Avenue in Ozark. Friends of the Christian County Library Christmas basket winners

Gretchen House, age 9 and in the 3rd grade, lives in Oldfield and was excited to win the child’s Christmas basket sponsored by Friends of the Library.  Gretchen’s favorite reads are the “Warriors Series” and the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series”.  Besides reading, she also enjoys gymnastics.  Her Christmas basket was filled with books, games, and treats.

Kathy Crowder of Nixa won the adult Christmas basket.  Kathy enjoys reading and spending time with her family.  Her favorite books are by Charles Stanley and Barbara Johnson.  She said she always has a book nearby to read and was looking forward to reading the books in the Christmas basket and enjoying the other items.

FOL Announces 2015 Back to School Basket Winner

The winner of the Friends of the Library back-to-school basket drawing was Heather McClain of Ozark.  Her three girls (Autumn, 6th grade, Ruby, 4th grade, and Ember, 2nd grade) will be sharing the items in the basket as they start their school year.

Mom and dad also enjoy reading.  The family comes to the Christian County Library at least once a week to select their books.  Some of the girls favorite books are: The 26 Story Treehouse, Wild Magic, and The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles.  The girls are home schooled, and the library is a great resource for books on the subjects they are studying.
