CHRISTMAS BASKET WINNERS

Hayley Ross, age 10, of Spokane won the child’s Christmas basket sponsored by Friends of the Library (FOL).  Hayley is homeschooled and is at the 5th grade level.  Her mother, Mandie, said that the library is a great resource for finding information on subjects to study.  Hayley enjoys riding her two horses, Spartan and Zimby.  She reads the Pony Pals series and other stories about horses.

Marge Demorast of Fremont Hills received the adult Christmas basket.  She is a retired home economist who enjoys playing golf, bridge, and mahjong.  Her favorite books are mysteries, especially by authors David Baldacci and Robert B. Parker.  She finds the library convenient and the people who work at the library very helpful when looking for specific books.

FOL is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to providing additional funding for the library’s various reading programs and activities.  The next FOL general meeting will be in the library’s meeting room on March 15, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.  A family membership is only $5 a year.  Contact the library at (417) 581-2432, or www.christiancounty.lib.mo.us, for more information.
