During our hot summer days Tommy Haynes of Nixa entered the
Christian County Library drawing for a summer basket and won a “cool” basket
filled with books and fun activities.
Tommy is eleven and will be entering the sixth grade at Summit
Intermediate. He enjoys playing sports –
football, basketball, and baseball. He
also loves to read and when he and his mom, Sherri, come to the library, he
likes to pick out books about the Titanic.
Friends of the Library (FOL) will be sponsoring seasonal drawings
throughout the rest of the year. Come in
and sign up for the back-to-school, fall, and Christmas drawings.
FOL’s fund raising activities include two book sales. The next book sale will be October
13-20. Donated hard back and paperback
books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books to be sold at the book sale will be accepted
at the library through October 5.
Interested in joining FOL? We
have three meetings a year where we share ideas on supporting the library’s programs
and events. You can join Friends for
only $5 a year. Contact the library at
(417) 581-2432 to learn more about what the library has to offer Christian
County residents.
