Becky Miller of Nixa was the winner of the Friends of the
Christian County Library Mother’s Day basket.
Becky works at United Healthcare and is the mother of two grown
children. She and her husband come to
the library about every two weeks and enjoy picking out books on a variety of topics
such as historical romances and mysteries, biographies, Amish living, quilting,
and books on tape. In the past six years she has checked out over
560 books from the library. Her
husband’s total is probably equally as impressive.
The next basket drawing will be for a Father’s Day
basket. Friends of the Library sponsor
these drawings throughout the year.
FOL’s fundraising activities include two book sales each year. The next book sale will be held October 12
through the 19. Donated hardback and
paperback books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books for the sale are being accepted at
the library. Funds are used to support
the summer reading programs, various events, and enhancements to the library.
