FOL CHRISTMAS LIBRARY GIFT BASKET WINNERS ANNOUNCED


Congratulations to Lucas Campbell and Cathi Keene, both of Ozark, for winning the Christmas gift baskets sponsored by Friends of the Christian County Library.  FOL is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides additional services and programs to the Christian County Library through two book sales each year.   Contact the library at 417-581-2432 to learn more about library activities and to find out how to become a member of Friends.

Lucas
Lucas, age 6, is in the first grade and attends Ozark South Elementary.  He likes football and reading.  His favorite book is the National Geographic Kids Ultimate Dinopedia. 










Cathi 
Cathi is the mother of four – three girls and a boy – and works part-time at James River Assembly church.  She has enjoyed reading all her life, especially historical fiction.  Her children come with her to the library because they are also learning to enjoy reading books.

FOL Announce Fall Gift Basket Winners


Congratulations to Hannah Reed and Stacie Sprankle, both from Ozark, for winning the Fall gift baskets sponsored by Friends of the Christian County Library!

Hannah 
 Hannah is in the 5th grade and attends Ozark Upper Elementary.  She enjoys drawing, basketball, playing with her two cats, and, of course, reading.  Her favorite books are the Tree House Series books.  When at the library Hannah sometimes uses the computer and always loves to check out plenty of books.

Stacie
 Stacie has only been in Ozark for three months after moving here from Texas.  She currently works at the Village Inn.  Stacie reads mystery, science fiction, and fantasy books, and writes poetry and fiction.  Her favorite writer is Anne Rice.  Stacie has found the library staff to be very nice and friendly which is one of the reasons she enjoys reading books while at the library.

Sale runs Saturday, October 15th, through Saturday, October 22
Mon.-Thurs. 12:00-8:00 p.m.
Fri.               12:00-5:00 p.m.
Sat.               8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Friends Night is Friday, October 14, 7:00-9:00 p.m.  Members Only sale.
Memberships can be purchased that evening for $5.00 per family, or anytime by visiting the library.
Books on Thursday and Friday, October 20th and 21st, will be half off the sale price.
On Saturday, October 22nd, a bag of books will be $2.00.  Bags will be provided.

There will be a drawing on Saturday, October 22nd, for an adult and a child basket filled with books and other Fall items.  Stop by the library and enter to win.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL GIFT BASKET WINNER


Congratulations to Quinnlyn Jenkins, age 10, of Ozark for winning the Back-To-School gift basket sponsored by Friends of the Christian County Library.

Quinnlyn enjoys soccer and is a volunteer at the Stained Glass Theater where she helps clean the theater, helps with sets, and has even appeared in the production of “The Last Oasis”.  Here favorite books are in the Geronimo Stilton and the A to Z Mysteries series because these are exciting books to read.  She will probably share some of the items in the gift basket with her two brothers and three sisters. 

Fall gift baskets for an adult and a child will be at the Christian County Library on October 1st.   Come in and sign up to win a basket and see what materials are available for check out – books, magazines, audio books, etc. – and what services are available for use – photocopier, computers, microfilm, etc.  The next meeting of Friends of the Library will be September 17, at 10:00 a.m.  Contact the Christian County Library staff at (417) 581-2432 for more information.

SUMMER GIFT BASKET WINNERS


Summer gift baskets sponsored by Friends of the Christian County Library were won by
Ashley Cowan, age 5, and Carol McMullen.

 
 


Ashley will be entering kindergarten in the fall.  When Ashley comes to the library, she selects books for her parents to read to her.  Clifford is one of her favorites.  This summer she is enjoying going swimming. 
 




Carol is a frequent visitor to the Christian County Library where she uses the copy machine and computer.  Her favorite books are historical novels, and she enjoys gardening in her spare time.

Friends of the Library Mother’s Day Basket Winner

Sharen Downen of Sparta was the winner of the Mother’s Day basket drawing sponsored by Friends of the Christian County Library.

Downen, mother to three and grandmother to seven, is a retired hair stylist who has lived in Missouri since 1990. Some of her favorite books are on how to scrapbook and take pictures of wildlife. She enjoys crafts, needlework, and crocheting, and making cards, albums, and journals to give as gifts. The variety of wildlife in her own backyard allows her to indulge in her hobby of taking wildlife pictures. This summer she will be bringing five of her grandchildren to the summer reading program and other activities sponsored by the library.

The next gift basket on display will be an adult basket celebrating Father’s Day. All dads are encouraged to come in to the library before June 15th and enter to win. For more information on Friends of the Library contact the Christian County Library staff at (417) 581-2432.

FOL Announces Winners of Drawing

Brianna Martin, daughter of Brian and Christine Martin of Ozark, is the winner of the Valentines’s Day basket drawing sponsored by the Friends of the Library at Christian County Library.


Brianna is in eighth grade at Ozark Junior High. She enjoys reading, baking and playing softball. Her favorite book series are Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Junie B. Jones. Brianna visits the library frequently to use the computer and look at cookbooks.

The Friends of the Library are planning to give away more baskets to show appreciation to the patrons and promote use of the Christian County Library. Each basket includes new books, sometimes candy, and other seasonal items. Enter the drawing for the next basket on display in the library. Friends of the Christian County Library Announce Drawing Winners

Elizabeth Manuel and David Phillips are the winners of the Christmas drawings sponsored by the Friends of the Christian County Library (FOL).



Elizabeth, winner of the student basket, lives in Ozark and is in the 6th grade at Upper Elementary. She enjoys cooking, especially baking, and art. Her mother, Susan, brings the family to the library for the variety of books available. Elizabeth’s favorite books to read are on painting and cooking.








David, winner of the adult basket, is the father of Joshua, 14, and Amber, 12, and lives in Bruner. He thinks this is the first time he has won anything. When not working, David enjoys spending time with his family. His favorite books to check out are Westerns, but he also likes to read various magazines. He and his wife bring their children to the library, not only to check out books, but also to use the computer.






Friends of the Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides additional support to the Christian County Library by funding the library’s summer reading program and other library activities through two book sales each year. Gift baskets are given away to show appreciation to the patrons and to promote use of the Christian County Library, located at 1005 N. 4th Avenue in Ozark.
