Friends of the Library names Father’s Day basket winner

James Scott from Sparta was the winner of the Christian County Library Father’s Day gift basket sponsored by Friends of the Library.  The basket was a tool box filled with items used by dads along with two books.

James is retired and now enjoys working on and driving his 1949 Studebaker ¾ ton pickup truck and 1960 Studebaker Lark sedan.  He also belongs to a Studebaker club and the American Truck Historical Society.  He likes to read novels by John Grisham and Elmore Leonard and detective stories.

When asked why he comes to the Christian County Library, James said it was to read magazines he doesn’t receive at home, to check reference books on subjects like Photography, and to see what new books are now available.  He and his wife, Pat, come to the library about once a week.

FOL also sponsors free movies and refreshments every Saturday during the summer.  Summer movies will be shown at 12:30 p.m. on June 21, June 28, July 12, July 19, July 26, and August 2.  Contact the library at (417) 581-2432 for the titles of these movies.  The Christian County Library is located at 1005 N. Fourth Ave., Ozark.  For additional information about the library and FOL, check out the library website at www.christiancountylibrary.org.
